Texting

To honor this blog’s name—a texting phrase used by kids to indicate they’re being watched—I thought I’d give a doff of the digital hat to the winner of the 2007 National Texting Competition, held in April. Looks like texting isn’t a skill acquired with age: 13-year-old Morgan Pozgar won the crown (that’s just an idiom, because the actual prize was $25,000). As someone who can barely eek out a text message, I found some satisfaction knowing that the word that tripped up Pozgar’s opponent in the finals was coined in my own childhood:  Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

    Nancy and Andy,

Very nice. I need some help on the texting. I’m still using fairly complete sentences, but I’m not up on all the acronyms like POS.

Charlie is pretty good at at.

Thanks, Steve. Maybe Charlie can share the love with the grownups – check out my post today (11/29).

    Wow! I am so impressed!

As far as texting – I am truly a novice and have a lot to learn. I’m sure the girls will have a lot to teach me.
