I stepped into our local Apple store yesterday just a few minutes after it opened. Boy was that place hopping. Crazy busy. This, in sharp contrast to the soccer store I had visited the previous day — where I had to wait twelve minutes (but who’s counting?) after the posted opening time for the lights to finally go on and a groggy 20-year-old to reluctantly open the door for me. (I was the only foot-tapper waiting to buy soccer gear.) Hmm. I won’t draw the obvious conclusion about our culture here. But…

Yes, I have started to knit. I am making a red scarf. I am trying to finish it by Monday. I have done 14in so I am a fourth of the way there! I did 10 in yesterday and it took me 6 and a half hours. My hands hurt so much. I have small holes from where the needles kept poking me.
SO MUCH YARN!!!!!!

Andy discovered a new passion this afternoon that is about as low-tech as it gets: knitting. So, I’m abandoning all things electronic for a while so that we may knit-two-purl-two together. But stay tuned: No doubt his digits will tire before long, and we’ll return to the digital world.
